Perhaps what they are measuring has to do with the fact that we are mostly still working whereas so many others have been shut down. We don’t have the stress of not having a paycheck. Other than that thought, whoever wrote this and gathered the data needs to go do some job shadowing in SPD! It goes with how few people outside of this job have any clue as to what it entails.

This should be completely trashed as a truthful article. It could not be further from the truth! 35 yrs as a SPD tech. THIS is a very stupid concept!

If this is research and truth in reporting please find another profession. Less stressful, being in the sterile processing field has to be one of the most stressful jobs you will encounter. Your actions can affect people lives, dealing with physicians and OR staff, ever changing regulatory educational needs.

💯 wrong, very stressful, so much pressure in this job, surgeries can’t happen if this job is not done properly and in a timely manor, extremely under paid, and obviously based off this post under appreciated 🙄🤬🥺

Sterile Processing is BEYOND stressful! Emergency surgeries constantly. Your patient is ON the table, and the tray the surgeon needs is not ready. You have to manually wash the tray, machine wash it, inspect it, and it must go through a sterilization cycle, AND COOL before you can GIVE the tray to the OR. The matter is LIFE and DEATH, and it’s ON YOU! The SPD Tech! Everyday we deal with this! Not to mention the stress from the nurses and doctors if they don’t have what they need. Whoever wrote this is absolutely clueless. I could mention so many reasons, but I won’t waste anymore time!
