Unlock Your Research Potential with a Fully-funded PhD at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) is offering a fully-funded PhD program for the 2024/25 academic year. The program is open to students from all over the world, and it covers the full cost of tuition fees, living expenses, and research expenses.
One of the scholarships available is the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS). The HKPFS provides a stipend of up to HK$1.32 million (approximately US$168,000), a conference grant of up to HK$55,200 (approximately US$7,000), a cash award of up to HK$100,000 (approximately US$13,000), a tuition fee waiver, and guaranteed two years of hall accommodation.
To be eligible for the HKPFS, you must:
- Be a new full-time PhD student at PolyU
- Submit your HKPFS application to the Research Grants Council (RGC) of the HKSAR Government by 1 September 2023
- Quote PolyU as your first choice
- Receive a reference number from the RGC
- Submit your full PhD application to PolyU by 1 December 2023
The HKPFS results will be announced by the RGC in May 2024.
In addition to the HKPFS, PolyU also offers other scholarships for PhD students. These include:
- The PolyU Presidential PhD Fellowship Scheme (PPPFS): This scholarship provides a stipend of up to HK$1.31 million (approximately US$167,000), a conference grant of up to HK$25,000 (approximately US$3,000), a cash award of up to HK$100,000 (approximately US$13,000), a tuition fee waiver, and one year of hall accommodation.
- The PolyU Research Postgraduate Scholarship (PRPgS): This scholarship provides a stipend of up to HK$900,000 (approximately US$118,000), a conference grant of up to HK$25,000 (approximately US$3,000), a tuition fee waiver, and one year of hall accommodation.
To be eligible for these scholarships, you must meet the eligibility criteria of the respective scholarship.
The application deadline for the HKPFS is 1 September 2023. The application deadline for the PPPFS and the PRPgS is 1 December 2023.
