What are the clinical features of subacute endocarditis?
The onset of subacute endocarditis is slow and gradual, lasting for several weeks and may present with non-specific signs and symptoms. The individual may experience flu-like symptoms such as low-grade fever, cough, decreased appetite, nausea, weight loss, generalized myalgias, and joint pains. During the physical examination, the person may present with a fever and a heart murmur.
